Revelation 21:4 – “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

With deep sadness, our beloved Bobby Lee Gambill has gone to live with his heavenly father, Jesus Christ.  On November 4, 2025, he passed away peacefully at home in his sleep.  While we mourn the loss, we are also joyful knowing he is no longer enduring pain and suffering.  Dad was born on October 4, 1927, in Rogers, TX and lived a long full life, having just celebrated his 98th birthday!  When he was still a child the family moved to Pasadena, TX, where he graduated from Pasadena High School in 1946 and loved playing on the school football team.  After high school he served our country by joining the United States Army, stationed in Germany at the end of the Korean War.  Having been discharged due to a friendly fire accident, he returned home and studied chemistry and oil and gas instrumentation.  He had a decades long career, retiring from both Olin Matheson and Brown and Root, where he led many startup plants and refineries along the Texas coast.  He was a 59-year member and 32nd degree Mason of the Houston Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Pasadena Lodge 1155.  He loved to study the word of God and was a long-standing member of the New Hope Baptist Church in League City, TX.  He loved fishing anywhere at any time and often followed up with a fish fry gathering.  He also enjoyed working with his hands, building just about anything, and in his later years watching the Western channel on television.  Not to mention, like his mother before him, he was an avid Astros fan!  He was preceded in death by his father Homer Lee Gambill, mother Lilian "Betty" Gambill, sister Joyce Creason, his wife of 50 years Shirley Ann Salter Gambill, and grandson Richard Tamayo.  Surviving family members are daughters Sheila Lange, Linda Wright, and Tonya Gambill Rowland, grandsons Jeremy Lange, Joshua Lange, and Ryan Rowland, granddaughter Rachel Rowland Olenick, and 7 great grandchildren.  The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date to be determined, and in lieu of flowers, requests donations be made to one of his favorite charities, the Schriners Children's Hospital of Galveston, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.  We will all miss his TALL fish tails dearly!
