November 8th, 2010 - August 22nd, 2026
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
With great sorrow, we announce the passing of De'Mian Marius Sanders, who left this world on August 22, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on November 8, 2010, in Lamesa, Texas, De'Mian was a beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He embodied a spirit that inspired all who knew him, bringing joy and laughter to every moment.
De'Mian was a proud student of Magnolia West High School, where he demonstrated a remarkable passion for athletics and academics. As a member of the Class of 2029, he not only excelled in academics but was also a valuable team member in sports, playing as a defensive tackle in JV football and showcasing his talent in shot put and discus during track and field events. His dedication to his team and his school was unwavering.
Those who had the privilege of knowing De'Mian described him as a gentle giant—a true teddy bear. Initially quiet, once warmed up, he revealed his charming sense of humor and his loyal, kind-hearted nature. He had an infectious spirit that drew people in, whether he was sharing a laugh, engaging in fun activities like fishing, riding roller coasters, or enjoying beach days with friends. De'Mian found joy in the simplest of things, from playing video games to floating the river.
His love for life was evident to all around him. He is survived by his mother and father, Josh & Jessica Sanders. His aunts and uncles, including Jacqueline, John Neidrich (Britta), and Christy Moore. His grandmother, Michelle Sanders and great-grandparents, Renah & David Gerstenberg and Ann Thomas, along with many cousins.
The family finds solace in knowing that De'Mian's light will always shine through the love he shared with them. A celebration of De'Mian's life will be held at The Ark Church in Magnolia, Texas, on September 1, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the Sanders family kindly asks for memorial donations to be made to Memorial Hermann Life Flight (https://memorialhermann.org/foundation/ways-you-can-help/tributes-and-memorial-donations), honoring De'Mian's compassionate spirit. As we reflect on De'Mian's life, we remember his favorite verse: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). Though he has left us far too soon, De'Mian's legacy of kindness, humor, and love will live on in our hearts forever.
