January 2nd, 1939 - August 6th, 2026
In Loving Memory of Pedro Hernandez Pedro Hernandez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was born on January 2, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and Naval Reserve before continuing his career in civil service. Throughout his life, he carried with him the values of service, commitment, and responsibility that meant so much to him.
On August 13, 1960, he married his sweetheart Irene Ortega, beginning a beautiful life together. Their love and family became one of the greatest joys of his life.
He enjoyed carpentry and landscaping and took pride in creating and caring for the things around him. He also loved his church and the fellowship and community it provided.
But above all else, he loved his family.
His presence was a gift, and his family always knew they could count on him. He was giving, supportive, and generous with his time and his love. Those who knew him would describe him as funny, a wonderful storyteller, and a true friend. He had a way of bringing humor into a room and leaving people with a story to remember.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Irene Hernandez, his children, Pedro L. Hernandez and spouse Michelle Hernandez, Maria H. Viviano and spouse Thomas R. Viviano Jr., Javier Hernandez and spouse Erica F. Hernandez, Catarina Richardson and spouse Patrick M. Richardson, Monica H. Dillard, and Michael A. Delacruz and spouse Manuela Delacruz, and his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with many family members and friends whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his beloved son-in-law Johnnie Dillard.
Pedro will be deeply missed, especially his humor, his stories, his generosity, and the love he had for his entire family. His greatest legacy is the love he gave so freely and the memories he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.
He will always be loved and remembered.
