Wanda Ruth Ogg-Hooks, Ms.

 

Wanda Ruth Hooks, a beloved woman of deep faith and vibrant spirit, passed away peacefully on June 30th, in the evening at five o'clock, at the age of 86. Known for her unwavering trust in God, she lived each day with purpose, joy, and devotion. 

 

She is preceded in death by her Son, William Lee Hazel(Bubba), her loving parents, Emmitt and Ruth Ogg, and her dear sisters and brothers, Doris Stephenson, Janis Zavertnik, Charles Ogg, and DonL Ogg.

She cherished her Native American-Cherokee Heritage and found beauty in the traditions and stories that shaped her identity. Her love of Angels, Clowns, Elvis, and Sports, reflected in her unique blend of humor, whimsy, and spirituality. She believed in laughter as a gift and in angels as constant companions. Her family meant the world to her, and she gave her love generously, not only to those closest to her but also to the animals she adored and cared for like family.

Wanda leaves behind a Legacy of Kindness, Faith, and Joyful Curiosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the Hearts of all who knew her.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Elaine Smith and Son-in-love Gary, her daughter, Anita Gayle Hazel-Johnson and Son-in-love Jim;

She is Grandmama to Christopher, Tish, Ashley, Zachery,  Kenneth, Adrianna, Angela, Jessica and Parker;

She is Great-Grandmama to Trinity, Dahlyla, Theodore, Jake, Nickalus and Grace;

She was absolutely delighted in knowing she was to be a Great-Great Grandmama in the Spring of 2026. 

 

Her favorite Psalm is 91, the Song that She knew as Peace, "I come to the Garden alone..."
