Recuerdos

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Curtis "Butch" Joseph Brock, who departed this life on October 31, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 8, 1947, in Chackbay, Louisiana, Butch was a beloved son, husband, father, and brother whose kindness, loyalty, and humor touched the lives of all who knew him. Butch was the cherished son of Evariste and Elsie (Chaisson) Brock. He graduated from Thibodaux High School and furthered his education at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. A master carpenter by trade, Butch dedicated his career to crafting exquisite cabinetry and furniture that will be remembered as lasting legacies of his talent and hard work. He was married to his beloved wife, Susan Brock (Brown), and together they nurtured a loving home, proud of their son, Matthew Curtis Brock. Butch was preceded in death by his dear siblings—Charles, Rodney, Gerald, and Larry Brock—leaving behind his loving siblings Roberta Verdun (Oscar), Stella Marie Rome (Johnny Errol), Della, Maria Riche (Mark), and Louis Jerome Brock (Melissa). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will greatly miss his warm spirit. An avid sports enthusiast, Butch enjoyed playing baseball with his son, Matthew, and spending countless hours watching all kinds of sports. He had a special fondness for his dogs, Dutch and Scout, who brightened his days. Butch’s genuine humor and honesty were hallmarks of his personality, making him a friend to many and a source of joy in the lives of his family. A "Celebration of Life" in honor of Curtis will be announced at a later date, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and reflect on his cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Curtis' name to the American Heart Association or the ASPCA as a tribute to his compassionate spirit. As we remember Butch, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
