Darlene Cheshure Fournier

Born March 12, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Donald and Joanne Cheshure, both of whom preceded her in death, Darlene passed away at home on November 24, 2025. She was the eldest of four children, growing up alongside her brothers Don, Dennis, and Dale Cheshure.

Darlene attended Waterford Township High School, where she was active in cheerleading, student council, and other school activities. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University, beginning a lifelong career as a dedicated teacher.

After moving to Texas with her husband, Craig Fournier, Darlene began building the life and marriage they would share for nearly 34 years. Their partnership was rooted in love, friendship, and unwavering support.

During that time, Darlene devoted 43 years to teaching, 40 of them with Spring Branch ISD. Over the course of her career, she taught multiple elementary grade levels and ultimately found her passion supporting students as a dyslexia teacher. Her patience, creativity, and care left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.

In the early 2000s, Darlene and Craig welcomed their two daughters, Claire and Abby. Being a mother was one of the greatest joys of her life. She cherished time spent with her family and could often be found crafting, sewing, or creating something thoughtful alongside friends and loved ones.

Darlene will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, her beautiful smile and unwavering love for the people around her. She is survived by her husband Craig; daughters Claire and Abby; her brothers Don, Dennis, and Dale; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Foundry United Methodist Church, located at 8350 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065.

A short reception will follow in the church Parlor. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Cy-Hope, a cause that was meaningful to Darlene.
