Dean Davison was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 2, 1942 to Ralph and Mavis Davison. After spending his school years in the Detroit area, he joined the Navy and served his country for 10 years. Upon leaving the Navy, he married Sharon Neumann and moved to Oregon. There they started their family with the births of Dean “Tyke” Davison II and Vonnie Ann. During his time in Oregon he worked as an electrician. In the 1980s, he moved to Tennessee to run a manufacturing plant for Frito Lay. He later moved to Alabama where he oversaw the building of the Eagle Snacks Plant. He was transferred to Visalia, CA to oversee the new Eagle Snacks Plant creation in 1988. In 1994, Dean tragically lost his wife to a medical issue.

Through his working years, he had many accomplishments and also worked with the local community college to create a maintenance program for students interested in commercial careers. In 1996, he married Sheila (Phillips) Mohn, where he gained a step-daughter, Stacey. Shortly after marriage, Dean and Sheila moved to the Bay Area of California for five years for a career opportunity. In 2000, Dean and Sheila moved to the central valley of California as the family started to grow with the arrival of their first grandchild. In 2008 he retired from his paying job and started working on his new hobby - racing cars at Madera Speedway. He won the title “Rookie of the Year” at the young age of 68 along with the championship of his division. He continued to restore and work on classic cars throughout his retirement years.

In 2022, after Sheila retired, they moved to Spring, TX, to further enjoy their retirement years. Dean enjoyed working with his son and grandkids on car, house, and school projects. Nothing pleased Dean more than to lend a helping hand in whatever the family needed because “Grandpa can fix anything.”

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mavis, and his late wife Sharon.

Dean is survived by his wife Sheila, son Dean II, and daughters Vonnie and Stacey. His legacy also continues with his grandchildren Emily, Jodi, Connor, Shayla, Dean III, Cole, Scarlett, and Hillary, great grandson Tucker, and a great granddaughter to be born in March. He is also survived by his sisters Dawn Sobocinski and Diana Peltier.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Tunnel to Towers at t2t.org
