**Biography of Eugene "Bubba" Merlin Peeples, II** Eugene "Bubba" Merlin Peeples, II, born on December 5, 1952, in the vibrant town of Raymondville, Texas, was a man whose spirit was as expansive as the Texas sky. He graced us with his presence until February 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and a knack for making friends wherever he went. Bubba was known for his unwavering generosity; he truly would give anyone the shirt off his back—assuming, of course, that his legendary collection of button-ups didn't get in the way. He believed in the inherent goodness of people and never met a stranger. His warm, inviting personality drew others to him like bees to honey, and it didn't hurt that he always had a hot cup of black coffee in hand to share while spinning tales of adventure and mischief. As a proud father, Bubba is survived by his two beloved sons, Eugene (Trey) and his wife Carmaleta, and Joseph (JT) and his wife Amy. Bubba also enjoyed the companionship of his wonderful girlfriend of four years, Debbie Scott, along with his furry companion, Tucker, who was undoubtedly the best listener. He cherished his parents, Eugene and Evelyn Peeples, and had a strong bond with his siblings: Barbara; Betty (Jimmy) Herring; Mike (Pamela); and Buddy (Patti). The family tree blossomed further with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom carry forward his legacy of warmth and affection. Throughout his career, Bubba showcased his talents and tenacity at various esteemed companies, including Magic Valley Coop., Amoco, BP, Western Gas, Anadarko, and Flint Energy. His dedication earned him a multitude of certificates and awards, making him a well-respected figure in his field. He was a true testament to hard work and ambition, consistently going above and beyond for his employers and his family alike. Bubba loved to fish—an excuse to cast his line and tell tall tales. Though he was known for being curious and energetic, what truly set him apart was his ability to listen, share, and provide solace to those in need. He was a beacon of kindness, always ensuring that everyone around him was cared for and, most importantly, smiling. As we celebrate Bubba's life, his family invites you to join in honoring his memory through shared stories, memories, and photographs. A Celebration of Life is pending, a joyful event just as he would have wanted—filled with laughter, stories, and perhaps an endless supply of hot coffee. Eugene "Bubba" Peeples, with his honest and loyal spirit, reminds us that life is best lived with generosity and a hearty laugh. He may have departed this earthly realm, but his memory will forever illuminate our hearts.
