Michael "Mike" Gene McGill

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Gene McGill, who left us on August 19, 2025. Born on July 2, 1949, in Memphis, TN, Mike was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Mike's journey through life was marked by his quick wit and his unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He would always make time for a good laugh, often bringing joy to friends and family with his playful sense of humor.

 

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Memphis State University, Mike dedicated his career to Det Norski Veritas, where he later retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

 

Mike is survived by his wife, Sue McGill, his daughter, Allison McGill, and his siblings, Joseph McGill, Janice Martin, and Rebecca Hargett, as well as brother-in-law Steve Hargett, and son-in-law Andrew Alexander. Mike was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Lauren Alexander. 

 

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Saturday October 18, 2025 at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Spring TX, see events page here for details. All who knew Mike are welcome to join in honoring his memory and sharing their stories. In this time of loss, let us remember Mike not just for his passing but for the laughter he brought into our lives and the love he shared with us all. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
