Souvenirs

Mildred "Millie" Casiano passed away at home on November 10, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Millie was born on July 25, 1947, in Honolulu, Hawaii, a place she held near and dear to her heart through her final days. She married Eduardo "Eddie" Asuncion Casiano in 1978, and gave birth to their oldest son, Eduardo "Eddie" Jr., in the same year. Their younger son, Jonathan, was born in 1984. After moving between Hawaii and Corpus Christi, Texas, several times over the years, Millie and her family settled in Spring, Texas, in 1995.

A great cook, Millie always made sure her family had a hot, delicious meal at dinnertime. No one could match her Thanksgiving turkeys, Portuguese bean soup, chow fun, or lumpia. For years, Eddie Sr. sold countless dozens of her tamales, cookies, and breads to eager shopkeepers and passersby in Old Town Spring.

Above all, Millie loved her family, especially her four grandchildren, who will remember her as a fun grandmother who always had a sweet treat waiting for them.

Millie is survived by her sisters Cela and Barbara; brother Johnny; husband Eddie Sr.; son Eddie Jr. and his wife Dawn; son Jonathan and his partner TJ; grandsons John, Isaiah, Elijah, and Micah; OJ, whom she considered a fifth grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and loved ones.

A funeral mass will be held at St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Spring, Texas, on Monday, December 15, at 10 a.m.
