Henning Schmidt April 9 – August 14, 2025
Henning Schmidt, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 14, 2025. Born on April 9, Henning lived a life full of warmth, curiosity, and connection. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tracy Schmidt; his children, Diego, Yago, and Maria Schmidt; his grandchildren, Wolf and Lua Schmidt; his loving mother, Gudrun Schmidt; and his dear sister, Frauke Schmidt (Peter and Leo). He is also survived by his in-laws Fred and Gloria Palomarez and his brother in law, JR Palomarez.
Henning’s life was a celebration of culture, community, and joy. A passionate cook, he found deep fulfillment in preparing meals for friends and family, often turning gatherings into memorable feasts. His enthusiasm for barbecuing led him to participate in competitions, where his skill and spirit shone brightly.
As a youth, Henning was an avid soccer player, and his love for the sport endured throughout his life. He was a loyal supporter of Bayern Munich, following their triumphs and trials with unwavering dedication. Soccer was more than a pastime—it was a thread that connected him to his roots and to others around the world.
Henning’s adventurous spirit took him across continents. He embraced travel not just as a way to see the world, but as a means to understand it. He had a gift for integrating cultures and building bridges between people, gathering friends wherever he went. He spent over twenty years working for Siemens Energy
as a engineer and fact finder. His ability to teach others and share his experience was highly valued and was one of his most enduring qualities.
