Kyung "Kyoko" Ja Fruge

Kyung Ja Byun Fruge, known to her friends as "Kyoko" has passed to His heavenly arms on January 16, 2026. She was 82.

Kyung Ja was born March 10, 1943 in Hinakawa, Tokyo, Japan to Wei Seul and Sun Ak Byun. She attended school in Japan and later moved to Houston, Texas. She married in November 2000.

 

She loved poetry, horticulture, the culinary arts, and was an expert seamstress, producing kimonos for dance studios.Kyoko was loved by everyone who met her, and dearly loved by the Fruge family.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Cornelius Fruge of Houston, and her brother, Young of Tokyo.
