We honor the life of Mingwei Chen, 52, of Austin, Texas, who passed away on December 28, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Born in Zhengzhou, China, on November 18, 1973, Mingwei received a Bachelor's degree from Chongqing University in China and a Master's degree from Virginia Tech. She spent over 20 years as a respected engineer with Dominion Energy and ERCOT. Mingwei was known for her dedication to both work and community. She enjoyed traveling, fine dining, watching YouTube, and cherishing time with her family.

Mingwei was preceded in death by her mother, Yerong Zhou, and her father, Guangxing Chen. She is survived by her husband, Xingdong Dai; her only son, Aidan Dai; her mother-in-law, Jiafeng Zhao; her father-in-law, Youwei Dai; and her four elder sisters: Mingjing, Mingjian, Mingjing, and Mingchao, and their families.

Mingwei will be remembered for her kindness and love for her family. Her laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who had the privilege to know her.

A celebration of life service will take place at LoveStrong Cremation Center on January 3, 2026, at 12 noon. Say not in grief that she is no more, but say in thankfulness that she was.
