Stella Marie Galentine

Stella Marie Galentine was born to John D. Scott and Maggie Mae Scott on September 1, 1953. She was the 8th child of 9 children. Her siblings are Jessie, Jimmie, Robert (predeceased), Joseph (predeceased), David, Donald (predeceased), Barbara, and Joyce.

 

She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but most of all, a child of God. Stella loved serving in the house of the Lord and serving His people. If anyone was in need, she would always give what she had and more. Whether it was preaching or baking her delicious cheesecakes, she loved to give with her whole heart. Her favorite passage in the Bible was about the prodigal son. Stella truly believed that no matter how far anyone strayed from God, they could return to His house and receive His love.

 

Apart from her service to God’s house, Stella was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Rickey, Antanette, and O’Dell. She instilled in them strong values and a firm foundation in faith, often reminding them, “If you live in my house, you will go to God’s house.” As her family grew, she warmly embraced her children’s spouses—Kenneka, Eddie, and Lerin—as her own.

Her love multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren: Swantia, Tyrone, La Vonta’ Marquis, Davonta, Imani, Destiny, Kaedyn, and Karter. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Jewelz and Aria, whom she cherished deeply. Stella found immense joy in witnessing multiple generations of her family, a blessing she held close to her heart.

 

Stella Marie Galentine departed this earthly life on April 13, 2026, at the age of 72. Anyone who was graced by her presence understands the indelible mark that was left. To honor her legacy, we should continue to love beyond measure as she did.
