Steven Floyd Doucet went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2025, following a courageous two year battle with Glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Steven was born on June 5, 1963. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the middle son of Floyd Joseph and Ann Arledge Doucet. He is preceded in death by his father. Steven graduated from Deer Park High School in 1981 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force where he was a helicopter mechanic. He was a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 27 years, serving on the Calf Scramble Arena Committee. This year he was inducted into the DA Club of the committee. Although he was dealing with treatment, he was able to attend all the festivities with this group.
He was employed by HCA Healthcare at the Medical Center location as a Telecommunications Tech. Steven enjoyed going to the family property in Buffalo, Texas where he hunted deer, did target shooting and just enjoyed the outdoors with his son, daughter and grandson. He was an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints Football Teams fan as shown by his vast collection of jerseys and hats.
Steven is survived by his mother, daughter, Christine Nichole Doucet, grandson William James Van Dyne, son Parker Steven Doucet, stepson Jonah Galvin, and brothers David Keith Doucet and Jeffrey Wayne Doucet.
Also mourning him are nephews Austin Trevor Doucet, Dalton Tyler Doucet (wife Aubrey) and great niece Hayden Emery Doucet). He is also survived by Rick Cotton, Steven’s best friend. Rick was an angel sent to us during this difficult time. He was there to take Steven to doctor’s appointments, treatments and just being there when he was needed.
