Terry L. McMurtry

Terry McMurtry, 70, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026. Born in Aurora, Colorado, Terry lived a life filled with faith, family, music, laughter, and memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.

 

Music was more than a passion for Terry—it was a part of who he was. He loved playing the drums and took great pride in running his own recording studio. Whether behind the drums or working in the studio, music gave Terry a way to express himself and connect with others.

 

Terry was known for his quick sense of humor and his unmistakable stubborn streak—qualities that made him uniquely Terry. He had a personality that could make people laugh, and those who knew him best will remember his stories, his humor, his determination, and, of course, his ability to stand his ground.

 

Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Julie McMurtry, and his son, Matt McMurtry, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.

 

He was preceded in death by his son, Chris McMurtry.

 

Terry leaves behind a legacy of music, laughter, family, and countless memories. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
