SHE LOVED HER LORD, HER HUSBAND, HER FAMILY, HER CHURCH & FRIENDS

Her life is a testimony to the love of Christ that lived in her.

At some point, we will have a small family only time of remembrance for both she and my dad who passed away earlier this year.

If you wanted to donate, I'd suggest shed be glad for you to donate to University United Methodist Church where she and my Dad worshipped and served most of their lives, maybe Alzheimer's association, or really anything that expresses the love of God to people.

This is what I want to say about my Mother:

My Momma, Carolyn Sigler was the most beautiful woman I'll ever know. Her spirit was one of love & care for everyone- it was God's Spirit in her that did that. She would say things like she was not a good Christian, but her actions showed otherwise.

She loved her family so much and gave herself up for all of us.  We always came first.  She loved Thanksgiving & hosted the extended family for many years, not only family, but others who just needed a place to be- one lady I remember being there for years- Dorothy Sterns who lived alone and was in a wheelchair.

My Mom loved the neighbors in Lake Charles and knew most as Mom & Dad walked the street regularly until she couldn't anymore.  She would befriend the neighbor kids and have candy to give them when they came down/walking home from school.  I remember walking with her & talking with a little girl down the street and her family about going to see her play ball.

My Mom loved little kids and she was the best MawMaw/MOPS to mine and my brother's kids.  When my kids were little, she was essentially a second mother, buying them clothes & stuff that was nice-- I was pretty frugal in those days and honestly the nicer things they had came from Maw-Maw.

She'd always listen to me and was careful to only give guidance when I wanted it.  And her guidance was Godly-- I remember one time in particular her telling me that she heard alot of I's in my talk and that I needed to remember to trust God.

Over the years of coming home to visit, the thing I remember most is Mom being so happy to see us, coming out to greet us and then always letting us know what was in the fridge or on the stove that we could have for dinner.  When we loaded up the car, it was always about what she could package up and send with us.  She had the biggest giving heart.  Even in these years in memory care, earlier this year visiting with her, there was a new lady that she was being friendly with and she said something like, we should have her sit with us- I need to get to know her, she's new.

She loved playing cards, especially Canasta in her later life, and gin rummy- she played rummy well even up to maybe 4 months before she passed.  She was a smart woman. She also loved fishing- she was a resourceful smart woman!

My Mom was such a beautiful woman- she was a nurse by profession but also just cared for people as part of her everyday life.  She was the "nurse" of the family, the voice of reason when a cold needed to run it's course as opposed to running to the doctor's office.  This was especially true of the way she "nursed" my Daddy when he would moan and say he was "coming down with it!".  He loved having his nurse caring for him.

My Mother loved the outdoors & things like looking for neat rocks & fossils.  During camping trips as a kid, we'd take walks looking for fossils in rock beds.  We had many camping trips and then later in life, many many weekends at the camp.  She loved that place and we did too! Mom always made a big breakfast on Sunday morning on the porch- she loved serving her family.  I smile thinking about her excitement & smiling face when we were together.

My Mother was my best friend, always there for me.  Many may have felt like Mom wasn't there in these later months of dementia, but she always knew me & I still felt a deep connection with her.  Life was not easy in 2025, but I still wish I could hold her again- I guess that longing doesn't really end.

I cant do justice to who my Mother was, but those who knew her, already know- she was an amazing selfless Godly woman & I miss her very much, especially this Christmas.
