"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24

John Dendy, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, was born on April 19, 1952, in Montgomery, Alabama. He departed this world on October 20, 2025, peacefully in Tomball, Texas. John leaves behind his cherished wife, Barbara Puskar; his sister Carol Lynn Blount; his daughters Elizabeth Dendy and Hannah Dendy Jackson; his grandchildren Gabe, Madden, Bruce, Ashton and Emogen, and his niece, Trina Muehring.

John's academic journey led him to Baylor University, where he graduated with a double major and proudly marched in the Golden Wave Band, playing the trumpet. His passion for music extended beyond the band; he taught himself to play the guitar and possessed a wonderful singing voice.

An entrepreneur at heart, John's career began in marketing, where he established a firm in Waco. His adventurous spirit then took him to Red River, New Mexico, where he was able to blend work and his love for snow skiing. John moved back to Houston and was involved in nondestructive testing both in the field and as an instructor.

John was perhaps best known for his deep faith and dedication to his community. He was a respected Bible scholar, dedicating countless hours to study and preparation for leading study groups and worship sessions in several churches. His kindness left an indelible mark on all those who crossed his path; he was known for his energetic spirit, curiosity, loyal nature, and sense of humor which endeared him to many.

John’s interests were as diverse as his talents. He loved camping, rock climbing, snow skiing, and deep-sea diving. He loved traveling through the scenic Texas hill country, marveling at the bluebonnets, or enjoying serene walks along the beach.  After retirement, John became interested woodworking and it became a passion.  He also had a great love of reading and was dedicated to being a lifelong learner.

John Dendy's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a faith that inspired those around him. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life he lived. His memory will endure through the hearts of those who loved him, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever inspire.
