Juanita was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all she met. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Betty Battles, Her husband Lawrence Wayne Lemley, her son, John Thomas Geraughty, her dear sister, Judy Hallman and Grandson Dakota Sorenson. She is survived by her remaining siblings, Gene Battles, George Battles, and Karen Powers, along with her loving children: daughter Kelly Grimes and son Michael Geraughty. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Moquin, Amanda Thornton & (Husband Chris Thornton), Allison Murphy, and Sevanna Geraughty, as well as her great-granddaughters, Sophia and Everlee Murphy. Juanita will be deeply missed by numerous family members and dear friends. Juanita was a proud graduate of Raytown High School in Raytown, Missouri, where she received her diploma in 1961. For over four decades, she dedicated her life to operating an in-home daycare, where she lovingly shaped and nurtured the lives of countless children, instilling in them the values of kindness and generosity. Her personality was a delightful blend of sweetness and humor; she approached life with a touch of sarcasm that endeared her to all. Juanita was known for her loyal, considerate nature, and her curiosity about the world. She loved spending time singing, dancing, and shopping. One of her greatest joys was being surrounded by family, whether it was celebrating birthdays or simply enjoying quiet moments rocking in her chair, with her loved ones nearby. A memorial service in honor of Juanita will be held at the Memorial Chase Club House, located at 9411 Landry Blvd, Spring, Texas 77379, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
