A life is not measured in years, but in love and cherished memories.
Lance Jason Jones
May 16, 1974 – October 13, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lance Jason Jones, who left this world on October 13, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on May 16, 1974, Lance was a beloved son, father, granddad, brother, and friend whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Lance was born to Donna Jean Jones of Boise, Idaho, and James Howard Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his grandparents. He was also preceded in death by family friend and beloved "niece," Kami, whose memory he carried with love.
He was a dedicated and skilled diesel mechanic, a profession that suited his hardworking nature and sharp mind. Outside of work, Lance was most at home around a pool table or spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for life’s simple pleasures and a talent for making everyone feel welcome. To know him was to know someone who truly never met a stranger.
Lance’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his son, Kody Ty Jones, and Kody’s fiancé, Skye. He was recently blessed with his first grandchild, Westyn, who brought a bright new light into his life. Lance also leaves behind his three sisters: Stephanie White and her husband Kyle, Holly Rodgers, and Tanya Meton and her husband Nick.
Lance also cherished his lifelong friends who became family: Albie and his wife Cheryl, Alton and his wife Ginger, and Althea, all of whom stood by him with unwavering love and loyalty. He was also deeply close to their parents, Al and Alta, who loved Lance as one of their own. Their bond was a testament to the kind of man he was—loyal, generous, and always ready to help or share a laugh.
In addition to his immediate family, Lance is survived by several nieces and nephews, along with many other loved ones whose lives he touched deeply and who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., at 6 Brown Trail, Dayton, TX. All who knew and loved Lance are welcome to attend and share in remembering a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Lance’s memory by spending time with your loved ones, shooting a game of pool, and living each day with the same open heart and welcoming spirit that he shared with the world.
Rest easy, Lance. You were deeply loved, and your legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew you.
