Mollie McAuliffe passed away on August 8, 2026, in Spring, Texas, at the age of 69.

Born on July 26, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas, Mollie lived life on her own terms. She was independent, strong-willed, and never afraid to speak her mind. She could be tough, opinionated, and direct, but those who knew her best knew there was a deeply caring person behind that exterior. Mollie wasn't someone who instantly opened her heart to everyone she met, but once you earned her trust, she loved fiercely and without reservation.

Mollie shared a special bond with her parents, Jack and Grace McAuliffe. She loved them deeply and spoke of them often. Her strength, loyalty, and strong work ethic were a reflection of the values they taught her and the example they set. Their love and guidance remained with her throughout her life.

Her greatest pride was her family. As a mother, she was a constant presence in her son John's life, spending countless hours at practices, games, and events, always cheering him on from the sidelines. She grew to love Paige as family long before she officially became her daughter-in-law and was overjoyed when John and Paige were married. Over the years, she traveled to visit them wherever they lived, always wanting to stay connected and share in their lives and milestones. Becoming a grandmother to Adeline brought her immense joy. Although Adeline was only ten months old when Mollie passed away, Mollie treasured every moment they had together. She loved holding her, making her laugh, and watching her grow.

Mollie also dedicated many years to Scouting, serving as a leader with Boy Scout Troop 838 and being a leader at Wood Badge. She believed in giving young people opportunities to grow, learn, and challenge themselves, and she took pride in helping guide many boys through some of their most formative experiences.

One of Mollie's favorite ways to show she cared was through cooking. She loved preparing meals for family gatherings and holidays, bringing people together around the table. Whether it was a large celebration or a simple meal shared with the people she loved most, feeding others was one of the ways she expressed her affection.

Throughout her life, Mollie enjoyed horseback riding, a passion she developed when she was young and carried with her for many years. She was also devoted to her Italian Greyhounds, who were more than pets to her. Over the years, they became cherished companions and held a special place in her heart.

Mollie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jack and Grace McAuliffe. She is survived by her son, John McAuliffe, and daughter-in-law, Paige; her granddaughter, Adeline; her sisters, Amy Smith and Sara Arnold; her brother, Dan McAuliffe; and her 7 nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to truly know her.

A memorial service will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas, on Friday, August 28, at 12:00 p.m., followed by a reception where family and friends can gather to remember Mollie, share stories, and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mollie McAuliffe Scholarship Fund at Boy Scout Troop 838 to help boys in need attend summer camp and Philmont Scout Ranch.

Mollie will be remembered for her determination, her loyalty, and the way she showed up for the people she loved.
