Sara "Faye" Faye Evans

Sara Faye Evans, 68, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Sunday December 14, 2025 peacefully in her sleep with her sister Barbara by her side.  She was a woman of many words, curiosity, and laughter. 

 

Born on February 5, 1957 in Port Arthur, Texas she enjoyed puzzles, spending time at The Estelle and Allan Fetters Center, bowling on Wednesdays, getting Hamburgers from Dairy Queen, playing mermaids at the lake with her sister, Barbara and "babysitting" Zaiden, Jay, and Bryleigh and the Dallas Cowboys.  Sara lit up every room she entered and never met a stranger. She loved Elvis and all music and had an extensive collection of CDs.  Sara is a 1979 graduate of Nederland High School where she walked for her diploma with her sister Barbara.  She lived with Barbara and Joey since her mother died in in 2010.  

 

She is survived by her sister Barbara and husband Joey Simon of Port Neches, Texas; sister Laura Evans of Orange, Texas; Curtis Evans and wife Wanda of Wisconsin, Nancy and husband Shelby Luke of Sweeny, Texas, Brother in law Buddy Merrell of Nederland, Texas and  a host of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Dolores Evans, sister Dolores "Dolly" Merrell, sister Susan and brother in law Freddie Collins, nephews Jacob and Michael Collins.

 

A celebration of life will be set at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Estelle and Allan Fetters Center of Groves, Texas.
