Mementos

Of all the special gifts in life however great or small, to have you as our mom was the greatest gift of all. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper in your ear "We love and miss you mom and wish you were here."

Sharlene Simonich, 76, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, in Montgomery, Texas. She was born on October 10, 1949, in Butte, Montana.

Shar lived a full and colorful life, with a vibrant and kind personality that was unmistakably her own. She was strong-willed, fiercely independent, and as her children would quickly admit, stubborn all the way to the end. She always lived life on her own terms.

Shar was deeply dedicated to her career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, a profession she loved and devoted many years of her life to. Her work was an important part of who she was, and she took great pride in the career she built.

She also knew how to enjoy life. She loved laughing and having a good time with her friends and family, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. At the same time, she appreciated the quieter moments - settling in with a good book, crocheting or simply enjoying the peace and comfort of home.

Shar leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, Wally (Becky) Clay of Okeechobee, Florida; Lori (Dennis) Scheuvront of Kenna, West Virginia; Chris (Dana) Clay of Okeechobee, Florida; Jessie (Jeraime) Yeager of Montgomery, Texas; Sondra (Jason) Hahn of Turtle Lake, North Dakota; and Ginnelle Brenk of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

She was a proud grandmother to Drake (Susie) Clay and Kyle Clay, Andrew (Keely) Lester and Nicolas Lester, and Tristian Yeager and Grayson Yeager, as well as Tayvin Hahn and Trae Hahn. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Levi Clay and Oliver Clay.

Shar also leaves behind six brothers, Gary, Wayne, Randy, David, Rob and Doug along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis “Babe” Simonich and Ruth Simonich (St. John), and her sisters, Karen Proff and Debbie Graham.

There will not be a funeral service at this time. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held in Montana in the spring or summer of 2027, with the date and details to be announced in the coming weeks.

Sharlene lived life her way, loved deeply, worked hard, laughed often and never stopped being herself, She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
