Dorothy Hammer

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Dorothy Hammer, who left us on July 6, 2025, at the age of 76, in The Woodlands, Texas. Born on July 31, 1948, in Victoria, Texas, Dorothy was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of everyone around her with her kindness, humor, and insatiable curiosity.

 

Dorothy’s life was a tapestry woven with creativity and love. She was an animal lover at heart, finding joy in the gentle companionship of her furry friends. Her home was not just a place; it was a sanctuary for her beloved plants, which flourished under her attentive care. Those who knew her well appreciated her artistic flair, as she always sought out new ways to express her creativity, whether through painting, crafting, or simply finding the beauty in everyday moments.

 

Family was everything to Dorothy. She is survived by her cherished son, Michael den Uijl, and his wife, Carrie; her beloved daughter, Jennifer den Uijl; and her treasured grandchildren, Heather, Jacob, and Chloe. She also leaves behind a special extended family member, Richard Davis, who knew the depth of her unwavering warmth and support.

 

Dorothy was a bright light, never failing to bring laughter into the lives of those around her. Her curiosity led her on many adventures throughout her life, and she faced every twist and turn with a smile that could brighten even the cloudiest of days. She had that special knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
