Joseph Freddy Alam Jr. June 21, 1940 – March 1, 2026
Joseph Freddy Alam Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on March 1, 2026, at the age of 85 surrounded by his family. Born on June 21, 1940, in Utica, New York, Joe was the son of the late Joseph Freddy Alam Sr. and Martha Campenro Alam. It was in Utica where he built the foundation of a life defined by loyalty and a deep devotion to his family.
On July 28, 1974, Joe married the love of his life, Arlene Judith Lawson Alam. For over 51years, Joe and Arlene shared a marriage built on mutual respect and enduring love, creating a home that served as the heart of their ever-growing family. Joe’s greatest legacy is his family. He was a proud father to his sons, Carl (wife Karen) and Wade (wife Paula). He now joins his son, James, who preceded him in death.
To his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, "Papa" was a source of constant support. He is survived by eleven grandchildren: Kalena, Andrea, Erika, Karl, Wade, Samantha, Nick, Mike, Patrick, Mercedes, and Dakota. His spirit lives on through his ten great-grandchildren: Kali, Averie, Preston, Everett, Jax, Charlie Jo, Turner, Kota, Philip James, and Natalie.
Joe will be remembered for the quiet strength he provided his loved ones and the steady presence he maintained throughout their lives. He leaves behind a sprawling family tree that serves as a testament to the life he and Arlene (Judy/Situ) built together.
