“Don’t ever let the sun set on your troubles.”
Sandra Godwin Rackley, age 83, of Fulshear, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 10, 2026. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on November 11, 1942.
Sandra lived a life marked by compassion, intellect, and deep devotion to her family and to those she served. A clinical psychologist, she dedicated her professional life to working with troubled adolescents, offering guidance, understanding, and hope to young people during their most difficult moments. Her work reflected her belief in healing, patience, and the potential for growth in every individual.
She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughters, Kelly Erin Rackley and daughter-in-law Teresa Scarano, and Brandye Anne Randermann and son-in-law Randy Randermann. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Dr. Ashley Kate Randermann and her fiancé Buxton Layton IV, Alex Colton Randermann, and Austin Trevor Randermann, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Lovelace Godwin; her mother, Florence Hlavaty; and her eldest brother, Earl John Godwin.
Outside of her professional life, Sandra found great comfort and happiness in quilting, sewing, swimming, and cooking. She expressed her love through the care she put into her home, her creations, and the meals she lovingly prepared for family and friends.
The family extends a heartfelt and special thank you to her loving and dedicated caregiver, Shamireya Ware, whose compassion, kindness, and unwavering care brought comfort and dignity to Sandra in her last few years.
Sandra Godwin Rackley will be remembered for her strength, her spirited outlook and keen wit with which she lived her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
