Recuerdos

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Lawrence "Mickey" Reilly, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 13th, 2025 at his home in The Woodlands, TX  surrounded by his loving family.  Born May 18th, 1945 in Baytown, Tx, he was the son of the late Lawrence Joseph Reilly and Helen Reilly.  Mickey was a member of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1963.  He spent many years playing golf at Goose Creek Country Club winning numerous tournaments and Club Championships as a Junior.   After High School he received a golf scholarship from the University of Arkansas where he was a member and President of the SAE Fraternity.

While in college he met Jennifer Richardson Reilly.  They married right after college and shared 57 wonderful years together.   Immediately following their vows Mickey joined the United States Army where he became a Captain.  Mickey and Jenni moved to Giessan, Germany where he served for 4 years.

After his service in the Army Mickey moved to Houston and spent 40 years working in the industrial coatings industry for Courtney Enterprises, Inc.  He had so many good memories throughout his career entertaining his customers by taking them hunting in Bandera, TX and golfing all over the country.

Mickey and Jenni then settled in The Woodlands, TX in 1978 where they raised their two children Stephen Reilly and Melissa Reilly Daniel.  He loved helping with his kids' sports and activities throughout the years including coaching little league, supporting all their booster clubs and serving on various community committees.  Mickey and Jenni have spent 47 years enjoying living in The Woodlands and making friendships that have lasted a lifetime.

As an avid golfer Mickey spent a lot of his time at The Woodlands Country Club gaining several accolades including the 2018 Silver Senior Club Championship and the 2012 and 2021 Senior Club Championships.  He also played in the ProAm when the Woodlands hosted the Houston Open in 1986 and beat his Pro partner.  The entire family has fond memories of the early days of The Woodlands including the Bottom of the Lake Festival, where he won the long drive contest.  One of his proudest accomplishments was in his early 70's when he started shooting his age and even beating it several times.

Mickey was a symbol of honesty, hard work and integrity.  He was a loyal friend, a genuine person and a true hearted Christian.  He was also a dedicated Arkansas Razorback fan.  He always liked to have a good time and we are blessed to have shared so many good memories and laughs with him.

Mickey is survived by his wife Jennifer, son Stephen Reilly and his wife Monica Reilly of Dallas, TX, Melissa Reilly Daniel and her husband Cody Daniel of Austin, TX.  He has 5 grandchildren, Minnie Reilly(15), Molly Reilly(13), Dylan Daniel(15), Jackson Daniel(11), and Kyle Daniel(11).    He is also survived by Charles and wife Debbie Reilly of Spring and Jeffrey Reilly of Baytown and many nieces, nephews and other family members.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Reilly Kraft and his youngest brother Kevin Reilly.

The Woodlands Methodist Church has been a Cornerstone for the Reilly Family over the years.  We would like to invite friends and family to join us for a Memorial service in the Robb chapel on August 8th at 1pm, followed immediately by a reception in the Jones library.

In lieu of flowers, the Reilly family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Woodlands Methodist Church Foundation.
