George Alan Smith, Sr
24 de octubre de 1958 - 13 de abril de 2026
24 de octubre de 1958 - 13 de abril de 2026
George Alan Smith Sr., 67, of Houston, Texas, passed away on April 13, 2026. Born on October 24, 1958, in Spencer, Iowa, he moved with his family from Ruthven, Iowa, to Houston, Texas, when he was just 6 years old. He grew up in Houston and attended Milby High School.
George was the beloved husband of Teresa Smith and devoted father to his son, George Alan Smith Jr. He cherished the simple joys of life—spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and camping in the great outdoors. He also loved traveling with his family and trying his luck at the casino. Those who knew him will remember his signature phrases that captured his spirit so well: “Damnit man” and “It’s alright thoughhhhhhh.”
He may have loved his dog, Buddy, just a little more than the rest of the family — a fact he’d likely admit with a grin and one of his classic lines. Buddy was his constant companion on fishing trips, quiet evenings at home, and everyday adventures, offering unwavering loyalty and plenty of laughs. Buddy remains with the family and will miss his dad dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Smith, his son, George Alan Smith Jr., and his loyal four-legged best friend, Buddy. George was predeceased by his daughter, April Waters, his father, Donald Smith, and his mother, Joyce Smith.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral ceremony. He wanted to be left alone. The family invites you to honor his memory in your own quiet way—perhaps by sharing a favorite story, enjoying time outdoors, casting a line in his honor, or simply reflecting on the moments you shared with him.
His family will forever hold dear the memories of his laughter, his love for the outdoors, and the way he faced life with his unique sense of humor.
