Recuerdos

**Obituary for Robert A. Stroh** It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert A. Stroh, who departed this life on July 4, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on November 6, 1942, Robert lived a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure that will forever resonate with his family and friends. Robert was a devoted husband to Reisa Jansen and a loving father to his daughters, Kimberly and Kasey Stroh, as well as his stepchildren, Kimberly and George Jansen. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Austin Stroh, Asher Igawa-Silva, Kaulike Jansen,Christopher, Benjamin, Jacob, Samuel Whempner, Zane Wilson, and Carter Awai, and he took great pride in his granddaughter, Julia Jansen. Additionally, he leaves behind three great-grandsons and a great-niece, and a cousin Frances Skaggs, who are all part of his cherished family. A proud graduate of Milan High School’s Class of 1960, he went on to serve six years in United States Army as radio operator stationed in Fort Gordon, Ga. Robert dedicated over 39 years to his career at United Airlines, where he worked in various locations including Hilo, Chicago, San Antonio, Kahului Maui, Sacramento, and ultimately retired in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his enduring curiosity and passion for travel, particularly enjoying cruising the world's oceans and rivers. Robert's personality shone brightly through his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. He was known for his love of jokes and Country Western music, and he had a natural ability to uplift those around him. His life was enriched by simple pleasures — watching football, cooking, and sharing good times with friends over adult beverages. A Celebration of Life will be held at a time and date to be determined, in both Texas and Maui, where family and friends can gather to honor the exceptional man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to petfixbigisland@gmail.com, which Robert would have greatly appreciated. Robert A. Stroh will be deeply missed but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
